Ganondorf was born a member of the Gerudo ; as the only male member to be born in a hundred years, Ganondorf is made either the King of the Gerudo or the Guardian of the Desert, depending on the game. Gifted with powerful magic, Ganondorf often seeks the omnipotent Triforce to grant his wish of conquering the entire world. The Triforce of Power that Ganondorf usually holds grants him near-immortality; the only weapons that can truly defeat him are the Triforce itself, the Master Sword , the Silver Arrows , the Four Sword , and the Light Arrows. In addition to granting him power, the Triforce of Power allows Ganondorf to transform into a beast form, Ganon, reminiscent of a pig or hog. During events of the ending of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time , the timeline of The Legend of Zelda series was severed into three separate timelines. Thus the Ganondorf from Ocarina of Time had three different future incarnations, each eventually meeting their end at the hands of different Links at some point.

Ganon [a] [b] is a fictional character and the main antagonist of Nintendo 's The Legend of Zelda video game series. In his Gerudo Humanoid form, he is known as Ganondorf , [c] and is the final boss in many Zelda titles. In the games, the character alternates between two forms: "Ganon" a massive, demonic boar -like creature and "Ganondorf", a tall, heavily built member of the Gerudo, a race of humanoid desert nomads. Ganon is the archenemy of the series' main protagonists , Link and Princess Zelda , and the leader of the Gerudo. His specific motives vary from game to game, but most often involve capturing Princess Zelda and planning to conquer Hyrule and the world at large. In most games, he possesses the Triforce of Power , a third of the full Triforce that gives him godlike strength, boundless mystical power, and invulnerability to all but the most powerful sacred weapons, such as the Master Sword.

Though other threats face Hyrule, Lorule, Termina, and everywhere in between, Ganon is clearly the biggest and most prominent adversary Link faces over the course of the Legend of Zelda series. He's the ultimate evil that necessitates the perpetual rebirth of the legendary hero. Since Ganon takes several incarnations over the course of the games, we decided to rank his various appearances in the Legend of Zelda franchise. Before you proceed, be warned: this list contains spoilers for all the games listed, including Breath of the Wild. For this list, we excluded Demise from Skyward Sword, as that isn't Ganon, as much as it is the evil force that will eventually create Ganon.
Why do so many people try to say so many of their favorite villains are just misunderstood. Because if you played Wind Waker, you would see that Ganondorf, the man, was misunderstood and bound by the fate of Demise's curse. His whole reason for seeking power was to lead his people, the Gerudo, out of a life of poverty and despair due to their desert homeland.
